((Takes place somewhere between Stranger in a Strange Land [3.09] and Par Avion [3.11].))
Juliet took out a key and unlocked the front door. "This is where you'll be staying," she said to Jack, holding the door open for him. With Ben's surgery complete and having him on his way to recovery, they needed a place for Jack to stay in case anything else went wrong. And, rumor had it, Ben had promised Jack a ticket off of this island. It wasn't an offer that was just given away, and Juliet knew that Jack was thrilled with the idea of finally leaving this place.
Taking a few steps into the house, Juliet turned to give Jack a smile. "It's just like a normal home. You have a living room, bedroom, a bathroom with running water and..." She turned a the corner of the hallway and faced the object in the corner. "Your very own piano." She knew that Jack enjoyed playing the piano and would probably be very happy with it.
Of course, Jack would probably be in awe about this whole place. He hadn't seen much of their village, only Ben's house and his own, but Juliet planned on showing him around so that he would feel comfortable here. It really was a nice place.
Juliet stood back, leaning gently against the wall while Jack looked around his new home. Then again, unless Ben got any worse, he would be going back to his real home pretty soon.
And so would she. She couldn't be happier.
((Open to Jack.))

Jack stepped in his new house, this was strange ... very strange. This time he had been awake for the whole journey and knew exactly where this village was on the island. It was weird that they had never come across this place on there travels, the amount of treks and walks everyone had gone on, Jack thought someone would have come across it. But this was all very new to Jack, and he couldn't help but look around in amazement.
This place was just like home ... well, it was in one way. They had everything they needed here, not like back at the beach where they would be lucky to get a peaceful night sleep. Jack walked around and looked at his piano for a moment or two. He pulled up the long piece of wood that covered the keys, it was dusty and looked like it hadn't been used in a while, but Jack was looking forward to playing on it. He closed the lid and turned around to Juliet.
She was smiling, but not just an ordinary smile, she looked truly happy. Jack had never seen her so pleased, maybe it was because she was back at home. Jack didn't know, but it was good to see her smiling. Over these past weeks he had started to trust Juliet, seeing that she wasn't a bad person.
"This place is amazing" Jack said, he wanted to ask a million and one questions, but he knew he should keep his head down and try to fit in. He was only here to look after Ben and then he would be off this island, Jack didn't want to do anything that might ruin his chances of getting away from here.

Juliet watched Jack's reactions as he looked around his new home. He seemed to like it, which was good. It was important for him to feel comfortable, even if he was only going to be staying here for a little while. If he felt comfortable, then there were no chances that he would try and run away. Then again, with the promise of returning home, Juliet didn't think Jack would try to leave.
Looking in the top corner of the room, she noticed one of the cameras that had been installed. "Oh," she said, realizing that she'd forgotten to mention those. "There are cameras throughout the house," she told him. "Just to make sure nothing goes wrong while you're here." Juliet knew that Jack was probably sick and tired of being watched by cameras, but it was for his own safety. Wanting to lighten the mood a bit, she added, "So I wouldn't advise walking around nude. Might not be a good idea." She gave him a small grin at the joke, hoping that the cameras didn't make him too uneasy.

Jack looked up at the camera, something he didn't exactly want to see. Did these people not trust him? It wasn't like he was going to run away, in a few days he was going away from this place, so why would he run off? It was just something Jack was going to have to live with, he tried not to look too angry as Juliet wasn't the one who put them in here [as far as Jack could tell].
"Well .. there's my fun gone" Jack said smiling "I guess I will just have to wait until I get home to cook naked" Jack stopped for a moment, remembering he hadn't actually told Juliet he would be leaving soon. Maybe she already knew? Jack had no idea, but he felt that he should have told her before now.
He looked around the room and tried to forget he had every said anything, but he was afraid Juliet was going to ask questions.

Juliet let out a small chuckle at Jack's comment. "So is that the first thing you're going to do when you get back? Cook up some food without the complications of clothing?" she asked him with a smile. Of course she knew he was going home. Almost everyone here knew it.
She remembered mentioning to Jack during the surgery that Ben was going to let her go home as well. Only if Sawyer and Kate got away. And... well... Sawyer and Kate had gotten away. She knew from personal experience that Ben was not a liar and, in a private conversation with him earlier, he had confirmed her wishes. Juliet was going to go home on the submarine with Jack.
"I never really cooked naked," she said lightly, keeping the mood light. "Maybe I'll have to give it a shot when I get out of this place. Would you say the experience of nude cooking is worth it?" Juliet noticed that this was a strange conversation. She wasn't exactly sure if the cameras had audio, and if they did, she felt sorry for whoever was listening in at the moment.

"So is that the first thing you're going to do when you get back? Cook up some food without the complications of clothing?"
Jack smiled "Wouldn't you like to know?" Jack found it hard not to flirt around Juliet, she was a very beautiful woman and had been nice to Jack during his stay with them. No one else had treated him with respect, everyone else acted like he was some kind of caged animal. Not Juliet, she had cooked him food, talked to him, and made sure he was ok at all times.
Jack was also pleased she knew he was going home, he wasn't sure if Ben would keep it secret as Jack knew he wasn't the only person who wanted to leave. Juliet was one of them, but Jack knew she was leaving. Maybe they would leave together, get on the same ... plane?
Something struck Jack. How were they getting off this island? Jack had never seen anything that would be capable of getting them away from this place ... the boat hadn't worked, and he hadn't seen anything like an airport around here. But that was just something he would have to find out later.
"Would you say the experience of nude cooking is worth it?"
Jack had almost forgot what the were talking about, the thought of going home had taken him to his own little world. But he soon snapped back into it and gave a small laugh. "I think you would have a great time!" Jack told her, trying [again, this was hard] not to flirt too much.

Juliet laughed at Jack's last statement. "I'll be sure to give it a shot then," she told him with a small nod of her head. Cooking in the nude would probably be an interesting experience. Then again, it might not. But Juliet was adventurous; she probably actually try it later on.
She looked around the house for a moment, unsure of what to say next. It was obvious that the two of them were both looking forward to leaving this place. She wasn't exactly sure of Jack's motivation, but Juliet just wanted to see her sister and nephew. That's all she cared about.
She snapped out of her thoughts and turned her attention back to Jack. "Well... I can leave you here to just relax for a bit or, if you want to, I could show you around a bit more." Juliet enjoyed spending time with Jack; he was a nice man, fun to talk with, and easy to be around. She didn't feel like she had to try to impress him or to hold up a certain image. Maybe the two of them could go to the rec room and play pool or something. It was something to do, and it was fun. They both needed to relax after everything that had happened this past week. Between Ben's surgery, her trial, getting Ford and Austen off the island, it had been a long week.
Juliet just kept telling herself that she wouldn't be here much longer. Soon, she'd be back home.

"Well, I don't exactly want to be here on my own ... I would love a tour of this place" Jack said, not liking the idea of being stuck in the house with people watching him. He would much rather spend some time with Juliet and look around this amazing village.
Jack wondered what else these people had, they seemed to have everything. Which was very different to what Jack had been used to on the beach, where they had to lay in the sand and work for there food. Although the hatch had come in handy for the food, but that was besides the point.
"Shall we go?" Jack said, making his way towards the door.

Juliet gave Jack a nod before walking down the hall, out the door, and stepping into the sunlight outside. After letting her eyes adjust for a quick moment, she turned back to Jack.
"Well, for starters, my house is just over there," she told him, pointing to a house not too far away. It wouldn't have helped to tell him exactly which house it was; they were all pretty much identical to each other. But it was just a few houses down from Jack's, so she didn't think that he'd have much of a problem finding it. "If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to come on over. Now that things have calmed down a bit, I should usually be in." She hadn't really been home a lot lately, so it'd be nice to finally relax and just enjoy herself before their trip back to the real world.
Juliet looked back at Jack. "We've got a recreation room, the docks, a few bike paths, and plenty of jungle. Anything you're interested in seeing first?" she asked him with a smile. She doubted that he'd want to see more jungle, but Juliet figured she'd throw in the option as a joke.
She knew that she would eventually have to tell him about the sonic fence and that he shouldn't travel too far away from the village if he ever wanted to explore. After all, Jack had been given a mild sedative before they actually came to the community so he wouldn't know about the submarine ride or their location. Juliet told herself that she'd tell about the sub later if they visited the docks. He'd need to find out sooner or later, anyway.

Jack looked around outside, he could see a few people playing football, someone building a fence. It was all very normal, and hard for Jack to take in. What really bothered him was these people knew the plane had crashed, they knew there was survivors and yet, they did nothing to help them. They could have brought them back here, took them home .. but no, they kidnapped Claire and took the children. These people were strange. Very strange. But they had promised to get Jack off this island, so he wasn't going to complain.
Juliet's house was pretty much the same as all of them, expect hers probably didn't have CCTV inside. But at least she knew where she lived, as he doubted he would go to anyone else for help. Some of these people seemed to give Jack dirty looks, and didn't want anything to do with him.
Then he listened to what these people had, where to go first? He thought to himself. He had already seen enough jungle to last him a life time, the bike paths wouldn't be that interesting as he didn't have a bike and unfortunately, Jack had already seen the docks.
"Recreation room sounds like a good place to start"

With a smile and a nod, Juliet said, "Alright, then," and started to lead Jack down one of the dirt paths to the recreation room. They passed a couple of people on bikes, both of whom Juliet greeted with a friendly hello as they rode by. The people here were really nice, but it was easy to tell that they weren't very comfortible just yet with Jack in their midst. Juliet was sure that once word spread that he was a good man, they would all warm up to him.
They reached the rec room and Juliet pulled open the door, allowing Jack to walk in. "It isn't much," she said with a small shrug. "But it passes the time." She stepped inside, closing the door behind her, and looked around. The pool table was in the middle of the room, the balls neatly racked and the sticks lying on the table. The foosball table was over to the side with the pinball machines and a small shelf held their minimal collection of board games.
"I think that pinball machine has been hit a few too many times; there's a bit of a tilt inside which just messes with the whole game," she commented, glancing over at one of the pinball machines. Too many times she had seen people hit the machine in anger when the game didn't go their way. Juliet had done it herself once or twice, but that wasn't really the point.
"Like I said... there's not much here," she said after a moment, looking back over at Jack to get his reaction on everything.

Jack stepped inside, and as soon as he saw everything he wondered if there was anything these people couldn't get. Juliet may not have seen it as much, but being bored on a beach all day for seventy days and then coming here ... it was like heaven to Jack.
In a way, he could now see how much poor people suffered, they had so little and if they went in a place like this they would probably have the same reaction Jack did. Jack wandered around, looking at all these machines he remembered from back home. Not that he played pinball much, but when he was a child he played it all the time.
"Alright then, rack 'em up" Jack said, looking at the pool table. He soon realized they had already been placed and ready to play " ... Well, that's done. Want to shoot some pool with me?" Jack asked.

Juliet watched Jack as he walked around the room for a moment. She was glad that he was at least having a positive reaction; at least he wasn't breaking things or throwing some sort of fit and demanding to know why none of his people knew about this place.
Instead, he had a smile on his face and asked if she wanted to play pool with him. "Just as long as you don't humiliate me by beating me too badly," she joked, reaching over and grabbing one of the pool sticks. Juliet was actually very good at this game. She and Goodwin had played all the time until Ben sent him off to be one of the plane crash survivors. And now he was never coming back...
She forced her thoughts away as she positioned the rack of balls in the right spot before removing the rack and placing it off to the side. Juliet picked up the white cue ball and handed it to Jack. "Guests first," she said with a smile. She wondered how skilled he was at this game. Maybe she could beat him easily, or maybe he was actually going to be a bit of a challenge for her. It was hard to tell. But if she could see how he breaks the balls initially, it might be some clue as to how good he is.

Jack grabbed his cue and took the cue ball from Juliet "Thank you" He said as he placed it into position. Jack looked down the end of his cue and lined it up perfectly, he wasn't a great at this sport, but he thought he may as well give it his best. The cue ball went flying down and smacked into the center of the triangle, knocking the balls every-which-way. One went in, he smiled slightly, pleased he wasn't going to humiliate himself by being terrible at the sport. Kneeling down he looked through a piece of glass what ball he potted "Guess I'm spots" He said, looking at Juliet. Unfortunately his next shot was not so good, missing the ball he was aiming for a hitting a different ball completely. Luckily it was another spot, so he didn't give Juliet two shots. [[OOC: Ok, as I'm English, I may make some mistakes and play ti differently to the way Americans play it. Please tell me any mistakes I make ]]

((You know... As I was reading this, I was all like 'Spots? What kinda pool is he playing?' Then I read your excuse. lol. I dunno how it's done across the pond, but here we have the solid balls and the striped balls. Each time you hit one of your balls in, you get an extra turn. Don't hit the evil 8 ball until it's the only one of yours left. Then there are variations on rules depending on how you're playing, but that's the general idea. How is yours different? And, just for the heck of it, I'm gonna assume that your spots are the same as my solids, which would make Juliet be playing stripes. Unless, of course, I've gotten it backwards. Which is very possible. )) Juliet watched as Jack broke the set of balls, eying them as they scattered around the table top. One of them went in and she nodded her approval. "Nice shot," she commented with a smile, leaning on her stick as Jack took his next turn. He didn't sink any balls this time, which meant that it was Juliet's turn. "Did you know," said Juliet as she walked around the table, looking for a spot that would give her the best shot, "in Australia, there's a rule of pool that states if you lose the game with all seven of your balls on the table, you have to take one lap around the pool table with your pants around your ankles?" Juliet found an ideal angle and aimed her pool stick at the cue ball, lining up the shot so it would do exactly what she wanted to. After a moment, she hit the ball with her cue, sending the white ball speeding at one of her striped (?) balls. They hit with a loud Clack! before the striped ball ricocheted off the edge of the table and landed neatly into the corner pocket. Juliet hid her pleasure of her shot as she circled around, looking for her next one. "Ethan and I played with those rules once. He lost and had to walk around the table in his boxers." Juliet took another shot, hitting one of her striped balls, but not landing any. "He stopped playing with me after that," she commented with a small smile, looking back up at Jack. "Your turn," she told him. ((I'm addicted to Wikipedia and have started researching rules of pool. Don't understand some of it but... oh well. Those Aussies are funny, and they a similar thing in New Zealand. It's called being 'pantsed'. Makes me giggle.))

[[Yeah you got it! Instead of "solid", which I will now say from here on, it's spots Also we say stripes, I was going to write about red and yellow, but that is a shit version of pool lol. But it seems that the basic rules are the same ]] Jack clapped Juliet as she potted one "Very good, looks like you wont be going around in your underwear" This rule did make him laugh, that was until Ethan came into the conversation. If there was one person he hated most out of all these "Others" ... it was Ethan. Not only had he come into there camp, pretended he was one of them, but the then kidnapped Claire and tried to kill Charlie. This man was scum. There was no explanation that would make Jack think otherwise. He had almost killed and innocent person and taken a new born child from another one. Jack moved closer to the table, lining up his shot. But now, it appeared that Jack had lost all his skill, and hit the very bottom of the cue ball sending it flying off the table "Err ... woops" Jack said, laughing a little, as the ball rolled around on the floor making a loud bang every time it hit something.

((Huzzah for things being the same, then! Makes life easier!))
Juliet laughed as Jack hit the cue ball completely off the table. "Good job," she told him with a grin. "It takes real skill to do something like that." She had done the same thing on numerous occasions, mostly when she had just been starting out playing. There were the odd moments when she had a bad shot and sent the ball flying off the table, but it wasn't very often.
She scanned the ground for the location of the cue ball. Seeing it near the pinball machine, Juliet walked over to retrieve it. She bent over to pick it up, the back hem of her shirt inching up, displaying the mark on her lower back that she had been given for killing Danny. Juliet stood back up, ball in hand, and adjusted her shirt.
Walking back over to where Jack was standing, she held out the ball for him. "I'll go ahead and give you another shot," she told him with a small smile.

"Well, maybe if you had been so kinda as to give us back on the beach our own pool table, then I might be more of a challenge to you" Jack said, smiling a little. This sport was harder than he remembered, although he wasn't that into it, not like he played it on a regular basis. Golf was Jack's sport.
When she bent over, Jack couldn't help but notice the mark non her back. Not that he was looking at her ass, or anything like that, but she had shown him this before, and it just made him think about how it was all his fault. Really, he should have kept his mouth shut about her wanting him to kill Ben. If he had kept quiet then maybe none of this would had happened.
"Thanks" He said, as she placed the ball back down. "Guess I'm a little rusty, huh?" Jack lined up his next shot, it looked like it was going to be perfect. As the cue hit the cue ball, it went slowly along, tapping the side of the ball, hitting it into the pocket.
Jack couldn't help but grin "That's more like it" Taking his next shot, he managed to place a ball near one of the corner pockets, but didn't have enough power behind it to sink it.

Juliet watched Jack's next shots. She eyed the ball that stopped right before going into the corner pocket. She grinned. "If we had given you a pool table at your beach, then you would have been able to make that shot," she told him, walking to the other side of the table and easily sinking one of her own balls. "Then I wouldn't have been able to do that." Juliet aimed her next shot. The cue ball hit the yellow stripe, which hit another ball and ended up going in the pocket. However, that stray ball rolled over toward Jack's and tapped it just enough to send it into the hole. Now it was Jack's turn. "Could have done without that, though," she commented with a smile.
It was hard to believe, but Juliet was actually having fun. She couldn't remember the last time she had been able to just joke around and relax. But now there was nothing to worry about except for this pool game.
"It was all an elaborate plan, to not give you a pool table," said Juliet, looking at Jack. "If we had, then you would have practiced and would end up beating me at this game. Then you would have thought you were better because you were better at this game. We couldn't have you trying to overthrow us, so we decided against giving you the pool table." She was joking, of course, but she kept her face calm as if she were actually being truthful. Juliet just wanted to see Jack's reaction.

"Oh I see, you didn't want to get beaten" Jack said with a smile "So you know, that if I had practice, then I would have beaten you. Really, what you're saying is ... I'm better" Jack knew he probably wasn't, but they were only joking around.
Taking his next shot he managed to pot on of his with no trouble, his next shot was good too. He was on fire. Jack looked around the table, seeing if he could sink three in a row. Nothing jumped out at him, so he tried a more complex shot, and although it looked like it was going well, he had managed to mess it up completely.
"See, our plan was to make you think I was bad ..." Jack said, continuing the joke ".. then after a few shots, I would play properly, leaving you standing there thinking; How did he beat me?" Jack smiled in Juliet's direction.
