As Judd Thompson Jr. sat in the lobby, all he could think about was freedom. After receiving a letter meant for his father which was misspelled and said "Judd Thompson Jr." He had found inside a credit card which had his name on it. literally. He bought a passport and was just waiting now. As he sat there, he thought. What would his parents think? Just then he looked up and saw... (Anyone Reply

Ecko was slotting in some quarters into the soda machine and pushed the button for the soda. He grabbed the drink out of the bottom of the vendor and looked around to see a young man sitting down. Ecko immediately saw a bible sticking out of his coat pocket and walked over to him, "Hello young man, I'm Mr. Ecko, a priest"

Judd didn't want to be rude to Mr. Ecko, but he didn't want to be lectured by a priest either. "Hello. My name is Judd Thompson." Judd squirmmed in his seat when Mr. Ecko decided to sit down next to him. He decided that instead of being rude or getting caught as an underage runaway, Judd could lie. "I am headed to Australia- on business." Judd thought he made himself sound older when he said it. He didn't want the conversation to focus on him though, if there had to BE a conversation. So Judd quickly asked, "How about you, Mr. Ecko?"

"I am going to Australia to widen my career as a priest." It was true, he was going to be a priest, but he was not going to explain everything about the plane and drugs in nigeria, watching his own brother get shot. That would make the apparent christian Judd wary and untrusting, Ecko didnt want to be seen as a bad person any longer, just after he had come to America to sort out some 'contacts'. "I see you have a bible in your pocket, are you a religious man Judd?"

"Yeah, well, I went to New Hope Village Church in Mount Prospect, California."
Judd had faked believing all his life. If Mr. Ecko questioned him, Judd thought he'd be able to keep up the ruse because whether or not he thought it was true, he did know how to talk the religious talk. Judd sought to keep the questions coming from him though, just to be sure.
"What made you want to become a priest?" Judd was sure this was going to be along story with a lot of God talk, so he settled himself in to a comfortable position. If it got too lengthy, he was pretty sure he could just zone out like he did all the other times at church.

Ecko didnt want to put Judd through the trauma of the story of becoming a priest the way he did, nor did he want to relive it, just so soon after he had got over the stress of seeing his own brother shot. "It was my destiny Judd." On his instinct, Ecko saw Judd to be too laid back about his religion. "Judd, why do I think you do not care of your religion?"

"Huh?" Judd thought Ecko must have seen right through his disguise. But Judd wasn't willing to give up just yet.
"I care about my religon more than anything." Judd lied. He hoped Ecko wouldn't be able to tell. "God is the center of my life." Judd squirmed again. Ecko was a questioning kind of guy. "I read this" Judd said patting his Bible in his pocket, "every day. I pray and go to church every Sunday."
Judd was about to say he loved Jesus, but just couldn't bring himself to go that far. He realized that if Ecko kept up his questions, he might have to say it and then he would feel worse. "Why?" he thought. Then he decided to direct a question to Mr. Ecko.
"Why did you ask that?"

Ecko watched Judd closely as he answered his revelling question. It became apparent to Ecko that Judd was doing a bad job lieing about having faith in the lord. "Whatever that has happened Judd, always keep faith in Jesus Christ. He will be there for you when times are hard." Ecko thought instantly after saying this that he could really get into this life as a priest, giving God the chance to forgive him of his sins in the past.

Judd by now was wishing that the speaker would call his flight. Becouse this preacher just kept talking about Jesus. Judd thought he could get off of the subject by asking about Ecko's "Destiny" to be a priest.
"How did God speak to you? I've heard it's different for everyone, so how about you?"

Ecko saw the delay in his speech and Judd's face and saw that it was enough to end this part of the conversation. "Judd, if u do not want to speak of this do not hesitate to tell me. I can tell that you are bored of the subject." Ecko began to turn away and head towards a rare empty seat just before everyone boarded their planes until he was spoken to again.....

"Excuse me" said Nicole from behind the man she had been listening to. "Ummm...I don't mean to be intruding but I couldn't help but overhear that your a priest" She looked down a bit nervously. "This is my 1st time on a plane without my family and I'm a bit nervous. I'm not religious or anything, but I was hoping you could say something you know to make me feel better." She smiled nervously at the man.
