Cassidy sat on a log near a pile of dirt, with a cross sticking out of it. The cross read, 'Nicholas Matthews'. Cassidy stared down at the dirt. Just knowing, her brother was under all of that earth made her want to pull it all out with her bare hands. Save her brother. But it was too late, because he was already dead. Her unmoving eyes were a brownish hazel color, and she looked like a statue rather then a person. The ocean crashed against rocks and sand behind her, but she ignored this feature. She switched her gaze to the cross. She heard sticks crackle and her head shot upward. Her eyes were brought to the attention of a boy, in a white T-shirt, a long sleeved button down shirt over, and khaki shorts. His clothes were ripped, torn and dirty. He had blood on him. Cassidy's eyes widened but didn't move. "N-Nick?" Cassidy's voice shook with surprise, and sorrow. Her brother was dead, how was he here. He brought his finger to his lips, and made a 'Shhhhhh' noise. "Nick!" she exclaimed, standing. Her brother 'Shhhhhhshhh'ed again and backed away toward the jungle. Cassidy first walked toward her brother, but when he was beginning to leave she ran. She burst through a canopy of trees. She looked around, only to see her brother walking, his back to her. She ran toward him, but he didn't get any closer. He whispered something under his breath, but Cassidy couldn't hear him. He turned toward a bundle of bushes and trees and disapeared. Cassidy burst through the canopy, only to find nothing. She let out a short cry and leaned in on her knees. She put her face in her hands and cried without sound. She picked her face up from her hands and looked toward the sky.

Judd heard someone screaming. Something like 'knee?' Or 'Nick?' Judd rushed toward the sound. He saw a girl running into the jungle. Like a ghost was chasing her. He followed, hoping to catch up to her and possibly find the source of the distress.
Judd emerged into a small clearing, finding the girl on her knees, crying. He ran forward. "What's wrong? What happened?"

Cassidy was still on the ground, and her knees were covered in dirt. She leaned back, her bottom on her heels. She looked around quickly, but Nick was nowhere in sight. "My brother, he..." she stopped. Judd would think she was crazy. "I saw him..."
((Sorry for the bad post, I gtg to school))

Judd was puzzled. The only reason someone would be frightened or cry over seeing their brother would be if he hadn't been on the flight, or if he was supposed to be dead. Judd remembered when Alex, who was probably the only civilized Other, had hidden him from the whispers. He had seen his mother and brothers. And they were looking at a grave that had his name and birth date on it.
Was this girl seeing a similar vision? Judd's family hadn't been on the plane, and that was how Judd knew his vision was just that, a vision. "Was your brother on the plane?" Judd didn't just want to ask "Is your brother supposed to be dead?" That would've put a damper on things.

Cassidy nodded. "Yes, yes he was..." she said, her voice a little crackly. She wiped the tears from her cheeks, which just spread dirt on her cheek, but Cassidy didn't care. She swallowed hastily, and had a slightly sick feeling in her stomach. Her skirt covered her legs and her t-shirt was dirty. She cleared her throat, trying to make her sound less croaky, but it didn't help much. Her skirt had dirt on it, as well as her shirt. Her hair was messy and her eyelashes had tear drops on them. Her cheeks were a rosey color, like she was embarressed.

Judd was at a loss. He was on the plane, but she was in tears over seeing him. If he could see Cindy, who was the stewardess on the flight, but was dead, he'd cry in joy- That must've been it! She was crying in joy! But she looked more sad than happy. Maybe it was like when Shannon saw Walt? Everyone thought she was going crazy, but it turned out that the raft had washed up on shore. Perhaps her brother was missing? And she had seen a glimpse of him? That made sense.
Judd thought about sitting, but when he saw the rosey cheeks, he was sure she was embarrassed, so he stood. He began to wonder what to do. Leave her crying, sit down and talk to her, stand and talk down to her... Nothing worked well in his situation, so he sat down, feeling slightly embarrassed himself. "So, where is your brother?" Judd felt so stupid.

Cassidy sort of figured that Judd knew where her brother was. She looked at him a little strangely, then said, "My brother is dead." as simple as that. Cassidy knew her brother was dead, and she didn't deny it or anything. She was starting to get over the fact that she was never going to see him again, but that didn't mean he couldn't watch over her, and that she couldn't talk to him. Anyway, just as she had begun to be okay with how she wasn't going to see him again, she saw him. It had freaked her out, considering she was right next to where her brother was buried.
She was glad that she hadn't seen her father, though. That would have really freaked her out, considering her father is dead in Los Angeles. But seeing her brother just confused her. Her brother was dead....Wasn't he? Cassidy didn't even understand anymore. If her brother was dead, how in the hell did she see him? Her hair fell out in front of her face and covered her eyes. She pulled it back out of her face, making it look strangly unorganized. She swallowed hard, but it didn't clear her throat at all. The sun speckled through the canopy of leaves and appeared in dots on the ground. Native trees surrounded Cassidy and Judd, and disabled their sight of anything past the 15 foot perimeter.

"Oh." Judd looked down at the ground. Well, he was in a certainly awkward spot. Every cell in his body told him to get up and save what little was left of his image, as he looked like an idiot at that moment. He drew a small picture of the plane in the soft earth, not looking up. "Okay then. I'll leave you alone then." Judd got up, feeling more like an idiot every nano-second.

Cassidy nodded, resting her bottom on her heels. It wasn't normal to see your dead brother in the jungle. If this were in the real world, and she had seen her dead brother in the jungle, she'd probably be labeled insane and been put in an asylum. But there wasn't a jungle to see her dead brother in. Isn't just seeing your dead brother enough? Guess not.
