Cold. She was chilled to the bone. Not because of the temperature; because of the dream. Lani walked through the jungle in a small blanket and carrying her sketchbook and a charcoal pencil, hoping to shake off the feeling. She was almost in a daze. It just didn’t make sense to her. She had always been a dreamer, had always had a vivid imagination, and remembered her dreams in detail. But tonight had been different. Lani had awoken in the middle of the night, drenched in a cold sweat. She had awoken because of a strange dream…no, not a dream…a nightmare. It had been a nightmare about the day her sister died. She couldn’t remember the whole nightmare but she remembered seeing Jocelyn get hit by the car…the scared look on her twin’s face…the look of betrayal. She had felt her heart wrench out of her chest again, just like it had that day. She felt herself running towards her sister but…she never reached her. And then she had found herself alone in a lone dark room covered in blood…and then she woke up.
She wasn’t really sure when or how she had left her tent, only that here she was, walking through the jungle with a blanket and her sketchbook at like 3 in the am. Her mind was reeling as she tried to remember leaving her tent and tried to understand her nightmare. Leaving her tent at night was always a bad idea. Lani was oh-so-directionally challenged and it was worse at night. Her eyes scanned the trees, trying to find some sort of landmark that she recognized.
She squinted as she thought she saw a landmarking she recognized, but discovered she was wrong. Where was the beach? What had she dreamed? “Ahh,” Lani cried in frustration. She dropped to her knees and stayed there, her eyes closed as she held back tears. First a nightmare about that horrible day and now she was lost. Again. Now how would she find her way back?

((Out Of Character: Wouldn't mind if I join in this thread, would you?))
Charlie had to go. Really bad. He knew there were dangers in the jungle; the Others, the Monster, polar bears, the list goes on. But when a man's gotta go, a man's gotta go.
He found a good spot and before he was going to pee, he heard a cry in the jungle. "Who's there?" he shouted back, zipping back up his pants. He followed the cry from where he thought he was. "Hello?"

[[Nah, I don't mind at all! It's open so, yeah!]]
Lani's head shot up when she heard a voice coming towards her. It sounded familiar...perhaps it was someone from her camp but, you could never be too sure on this island. Swiftly she reached down to her ankle, where a small knife with a handcarved hilt was tied to her ankle with a rope-thing. She slid it out of its pouch.
She stood up slowly, wiping the barely-shed tears from the corners of her eyes. She held it tightly in her right hand and cautiously took a few steps in the direction the voice had come from. "Hello?" she said hesitantly.

Once Charlie had heard the response, he loosened up. If it was an Other, then they would never respond back, and few seconds later, he would have been cut down. That meant the person was from the beach, and nothing bad should happen.
"Oi!" Charlie called, stepping a few stops closer. "You all right?"

Lani relaxed slightly as she heard the voice again. It sounded familiar...she recognized it from camp. She sighed, and lowered her knife. She walked forward, towards the voice, squinting in the darkness to see who it was, calling out softly, "Who are ya?"
[blah. this sucks. i have no creativity today.]

"Charlie," he called back, stepping closer to the voice. He remembered that voice from the beach, but not who in particular it was.
((OOC: Blah, I don't have any creativity either, lol))

Lani sighed and relaxed even more. It was Charlie. She didn't need to worry then. He wasn't going to harm her. She walked forward until she could see him clearly. She assumed he could see her too. She tucked her stray strands of hair behind her ears and hoped the darkness hid her slight blush at being caught in a moment of despair. "H-hello...I'm Noelani...Lani for short. I don't think I've introduced myself to you yet..."
[[OOC: Meh. That's all I have to say about my post.]]

Charlie could see Lani and smiled. She didn't seem to be a hostile individual, nor someone that would want to harm him. "My name's Charlie, if you forgot from a moment again," he joked with her.

Lani laughed lightly, her whole body seeming to relax. The tension from the nightmare, being lost, and thinking she might be attacked was slipping away. "I know...nice to meet you Charlie." She held the blanket tighter around her, and her hands clung to her sketchbook. "Um, so...what brings you out here...in the middle of the night?" she asked, her face showing that she was aware how ironic her question was.

Um, so...what brings you out here...in the middle of the night?
Charlie blushed a little bit when Lani asked that question. He didn't think it was "proper" to tell her that he was out there in the jungle to urinate in the middle of the night.
"I...uh, had to use the bathroom," Charlie stuttered, a little embarassed in telling her this. "But then you screamed, so I had to see if you were okay."
