Jane wandered to the golf course as she usually did once a day. She had nothing better to do and it helped her keep her mind off of the things that bothered her so much lately. She wondered a lot recently if she would even leave this God forsaken island if they ever did get rescued. She determined she would be just as cursed to live a life of solitude anywhere she existed. Today was no different.
With everyone else on the island doing their own thing these days, Jane had become something of a loner. Her best friends had disappeared or been kidnapped, and even though Kate and the others were back now, Ben and Jason and so many of the others weren't. Kate had been more distant than normal too lately, and Jane decided she didn't want to pry. If her friend ever wanted to talk to her she knew she could. Until that day came, Jane stayed out on her own.
Taking a club from Jack's old golf bag, Jane sized up the hole and started driving several golf balls at the first hole. She was getting a lot better at this than she used to be. It was appropriate since this and her tent were where she spent most of her time. Jane heard someone coming before she saw them. In her mind, she had determined that if the Others came for her again, she'd go willingly. In fact, she almost hoped it was.

Jack had been back for two days now, and he had only just thought about coming to the golf course. Since the hatch had blown up he has had nothing to do, apart from show Juliet around. But now she was getting used to things and people were trusting her more, so he was on his own for a while.
Walking up to the golf course he wondered what had happened to his clubs. Were the left in the hatch? Had anyone been able to find them? Jack had no idea, but he thought he might as well check the course and see if they had been left there.
When getting closer he saw Jane, a smile came across his face, remembering the lessons they had. It seemed she was still interesting in learning, and from her last shot, getting much better. He walked a little closer before raising a hand, and giving a small wave "Hi Jane"

It was Jack. Jane sighed somewhat, a mixture of both relief and frustration. She really did almost wish it were one of the Others. She was tired of the waiting game. Jane assumed they'd all get kidnapped or die at some point. She was hoping for something sooner rather than later, and yet she was relieved it wasn't now. What a mixed up woman!
"Hi, Jack," Jane said and smiled as he drew closer. "I bet you were looking for your clubs, weren't you? Sorry I was hogging them all to myself. It seems like I'm the only one who ever came out here anymore so I've been keeping them in my tent."

Jack smiled "I'm glad someone has been looking after them. What with my absence, I thought that someone would have just thrown them into the jungle and thought nothing of it. But as long as you have been taking care of them, I don't mind at all."
Jack moved over and checked inside the bag, they were all there and looked in perfect condition. "Looks like it's paid off you borrowing the clubs, you seem to be getting better" Jack said, as he looked across the field to see if he could see her ball. "Mind if I take a few swings with you?"
He didn't want to get in the way, maybe Jane preferred practicing alone, Jack could always come back later. But it had been a long time since he had seen her, maybe this was his chance to catch up with her and see what she's been up to.

"I don't mind at all."
Jane had grinned as Jack looked over the clubs. They weren't his but he loved the game so much he had taken them as his responsibility. Jane knew it probably had a lot to do with the fact he needed the connection to home. Most of the survivors looked for things like that. If they could find something here that the did or loved back wherever they came from, then they didn't feel so disconnected.
"Maybe I can even beat you today," Jane teased. "After all, you're bound to be rusty having been away from it for a couple of weeks."

Kate heard voices as she slid down the trunk of the tree she'd been picking fruit from, and smiled.
Dusting herself off, she picked up the fruit that had rolled out of her bag whilst in the tree, and slung the bag over her shoulder. As she got closer to the golf course, she made out Jane and Jack's figures by the golf clubs, apparently about to start a game.
'Hey,' she called out, 'Mind if I join you? I brought mangoes,' she grinned.

Jack grinned. "I'd love a game" Jack wasn't sure if he would be able to beat Jane this time, he hadn't played in a while and by the looks of things Jane had been playing most days. So at least it would be a challenge for him, maybe there was going to be a new island-golf-champion.
Looking over to the woods he noticed Kate, someone he hadn't exactly been getting on with lately. Jack tried his best to make peace with what he had seen, but it had hurt him a lot. "Sure, grab a club and we'll get started" Jack at least tried to get a long with her. She had made her choice, he just had to make peace with it.
Besides, he was getting along with Juliet now, and it wasn't like he was looking for love on this island. The only thing Jack was looking for was a way off, the sooner the better.

"Mangoes! Ya know if it were chocolate, you'd be in for sure," Jane smiled at Kate.
They hadn't really talked or spent any time together since Kate came back from trying to rescue Jack and then that Other came back with Jack. Jane still didn't trust the woman, but she had less of an issue trusting Jack. It made no sense why she was able to separate the two when they seemed so inseparable, but Jane did. Maybe because she was pretty close to Jack before he was kidnapped.
No matter. They were here in the golf course and getting ready to play golf. It was a time to relax not more reflection. Gosh, it seemed like that was all Jane was doing these days.
"I should be able to stand my ground with you guys now," Jane remarked and grabbed a ball. "Who wants to go first?"

[[OOC: I was giving Kate a chance to get a post it, but i don't want this thread to die ... so i'll go ]] "Well you know the saying," Jack smiled a little "Ladies first. So either of you two can go" Jack thought it would be better to go last, that way he could see what he had to compete with. So he took a step back and letting whoever was going to go first have some space. Jack thought the fairest way to decide who should go first would be a coin toss, but as probably no one here had a coin ... that idea was no good. They would just have to think of some other way, maybe picking the shortest piece of grass, he knew Jane or Kate would be able to come up with some better way.

Jane felt some tension between the two. Inwardly she groaned. Jane had not come out to the golf course to be in the middle of some kind of... whatever. She would have called it a quarrel, but they we're fighting. However, Jane knew something big had happened while they were with the Others. She simply had no idea what that was. That in mind, there was also no way of knowing how to sidestep it and not say the wrong thing.
This is going to be an interesting afternoon, Jane thought to herself but spoke aloud, "I'll run down and get the other balls I'd hit so they don't get confused with the ones we play with now."
