Jin didn't seem to talk much, which was fine as if he did Jack might not be able to understand him that well. Filling his glass once again he walked over to where the computer was to check on the timer, it couldn't be too long now.
Time sure flew by when you were having fun. There was only about six minutes left until Jack had to type in those magic numbers. So he took a seat and shouted back to Jin "I'll play again in a bit" He took a few more sips of his drink and looked around the room.
There was a lot of machinery in here, and all they did was stop this counter was getting down to 0. Although Jack thought that if the counter hit 0 nothing would happen, something in the back of his mind told him different.

Jin took his last gulps of his water, and finished the glass. He looked at Jack, and followed him, only wanting to look around. Jins eyes moved all around, looking at the open room. There was a small computer, and a timing clock above that ticked. Jin looked interested in all of the gadgets that are in this hatch. Now Jin knew why many people came down here. Jin didn't know if Sun came down here, but he sure would advise her seeing it once.
Jin heard Jack say something, that he didn't understand, so he just waited until Jack came up again. As he waited, he held his head up at the timer again watching numbers flick on by. He rubbed his eyes, and wiped sweat off of his face. Jin knew he better be going soon, and to tell Sun what he had done. He would play one more with Jack only if he wanted to, but it gave him something to do.

Once the clock hit below four minutes Jack was able to type in the code. 4 8 15 16 23 42, no trouble at all. Then he hit the enter button and the numbers fli--- ... no, they didn't move. The timer continued to count down. Looking at the screen he could still see the numbers he had typed in.
Without panicking, he hit the enter button again. Nothing. What the hell was wrong with this computer? Jack hit it a few more times, getting harder each time, but nothing happened. Now he was beginning to panic, if he couldn't enter these numbers then the timer wouldn't restart ... and, well no one knows what would happen, but Jack didn't want to find out.
He smacked the keyboard with his fist, not too hard, but it did make a loud sound. Then hit the enter key a few more times. Still nothing! This was getting annoying, he had less than three minutes to get this sorted. Without Sayid around this could be a problem.

Jin looked away from the timer, and looked at Jack. Jack seemed to be angry and pounding on the keyboard. Every time he pressed a certain button, Jack got more angry and he kept clicking it. Jin came closer towards Jack, and seemed alarmed. Jin took a short breath, and thought about what he could do. He really couldn't do anything.
He had no idea of this place, especially his first visit here. Locke, or Sayid would be a good person to have help. Jin thought of something and tried his best to speak it to Jack. Jin went to Jack, "Jack! Locke, or Sayid help?" Jin asked hopefully as it seemed technical and Locke and Sayid knew about the hatch more than Jin does.

If Jin could make it back to the beach, find Sayid or Locke, and get them back here in under three minutes ... well that would be some talent. But Jack knew that no one stood a chance of doing that, he would have to try and fix it himself.
"No time" Jack moved behind the computer, pulling off the back. Wow! There was a lot of wires, Jack had never expected it to be this complicated. He knew computers were complex pieces of equipment, but he had no idea they shoved this many wires back here.
"Ok ..." He said to himself, looking around to see if there was anything loose or that didn't look right. "... There!" He said sounding excited. There was one wire just hanging out of place, he pushed it back in getting a small shock. But this didn't slow him down.
Now with less than a minute left and the timer going crazy, the alarm getting louder and louder. He ran around and smacked the enter key as hard as he could. Sure enough the numbers flicked back in place and Jack sighed, throwing himself into the chair.

Jin saw two minutes left, and knew exactly what Jack was meaning to tell Jin. There wasn't a slight bit of chance, even if Jin had ran, he wouldn't make it back in time to explain to Sayid nor Locke. Jin was alarmed by the alarms but showed no frightened looks. He stood around and looked behind him, searching wide eyed. He then slowly covered his ears, and watched Jack work with a large amount of wires. It looked complicated, and Jin wishing he could help just stood and watched, he looked around to see if anyone was coming, but nobody was.
The alarms stopped suddenly, and the flicking of numbers above him, appeared. Jin put his arms slowly off of his ears. He couldn't believe what happened, and was thankful for Jack. He looked at Jack, and breathed deeply.

"Close one, huh?"
Jack took another drink, thinking about what could have happened if he had let those numbers go down. But he didn't, and everything was back to normal. He sat down, thinking about what they could do now, they could play ping pong once again .. but that might get a bit repetitive.
"So..." Jack said trailing off a little. He really had nothing to say, but thought he better break the silence before either of them felt awkward. But now he might look like an idiot for not actually saying anything ... damn it, Jack hadn't thought this through.

Jin made a breath of relief, and answered Jack by nodding and smiling. He was a little to worn out to play ping-pong again, especially after what just happened. He played it once, making it a special experience, and didn't want to ruin it. He sighed, and patted his pants. He thought about when to leave, and return to Sun.
There was an awkward pause with Jack. Silence, and Jin didn't know what else to do. He decided he would look around a little bit more of the hatch, he didn't see everything yet. He looked at Jack before he walked, and put his hand up ahead of him, pointing at him, and the room ahead of him. Meaning to ask Jack if he could go over there to look. "Can.." Jin missed something, and paused, "I?" Jin asked remembering, as he still pointed ahead of him.

"Ermm .. yeah" Jack said, not sure what Jin was really asking. What did he want to do? Jack got up out his seat and followed, it wouldn't be a good idea to leave Jin alone in this place. Not that he would do anything stupid, but there was many things that happened here that were unexplainable, and he didn't want Jin getting mixed up in any of this.

Jin smiled for a second, and nodded, as he continued to move forward. Jin looked straight ahead of him and saw the following right away, a record player, and something for excerise use. A couch, and a bed. Jins eyes widened a little, with his hands by his sides. He hasn't seen anything like this in many weeks since he has been here. He never would have thought he'd see the kind of stuff until he was rescued. Sun had to see this, he thought. Jin smiled again, as he was pretty impressed with the many things of the hatch. It was his first visit, so he hoped Jack knew he was just looking around.
(It's okay, mine is a little short too..)

Jack could see Jin was impressed by all this, and he wasn't going to cause any harm. So he thought a little music would help lighten the mood, while Jin continue to look around Jack walked over to the record player. He looked through all the records they had available, they all seemed really old and nothing he had really heard off. So he picked one at random and placed it on the record player.
Make Your Own Kind Of Music
The title of the album, and sure enough, the first song. It started a little too loud, so he quickly changed the volume so that they could still hear each other think. Then he looked over to Jin, to make sure he wasn't annoyed or anything, and gave a quick smile.

Jin paused from looking, and quickly turned around. He heard the loud sound of music, and he shortly smiled back at Jack. It was American music, which of course he has never heard of, nor understand much. It was nice to hear it though, and he hasn't heard any music in a long time. "Heh." he said sighing, trying to talk, feeling quiet that he couldn't say much, but he knew that Jack trusted Jin and accepted him. "Nice.." He said taking a quick last look around.

Jack continued flicking through the records, seeing if there was anything he may have actually heard. But the collection seemed a little out of date, but then again, they were on an island in the middle of nowhere, so Jack hadn't expected much.
He took a seat in the couch, relaxing a little and letting Jin explore the rest of the place. There was no need to follow as he knew Jin was sensible enough not to touch anything that looked like it could affect this place. Jack closed his eyes for a moment or two, imaging what it would be like to be back home.

Jin stopped searching a little and looked at Jack. He liked it, this place. The hatch, and he knew exactly why people came here. It was a nice relaxing place with plenty of things. Jin was sure he would come here again, of course bring Sun along once in a while. The island was mysterious, and it was still mysterious to Jin that there was a hatch here. He guessed everyone got used to it, and pretty much had to. There was not alot of ways to figure out why people were here.
Jin scratched his head, and realized it was getting late. He'd better be going. He was actually getting tierd, he felt old. He smiled at Jack, and made a sign with his thumb facing the other way towards the exit of the hatch. He pointed to himself, "Go," Jin smiled.

Jack opened his eyes to see Jin pointing at the door, of course, he had only been in here for a shower. Jack had felt like he had kept him in here for too long, Sun might be wondering where he had go to. Getting out of his seat he said "Yeah ... sorry I kept you here so long. Yeah, you can go. Tell Sun I said hi" Jack always tried to be kind of Sun and Jin, they were having a baby and clearly a happy couple. Now it would be down to him to press this button, hopefully he wouldn't have any problems like last time. Although he did seem to have sorted that out. It didn't occur to Jin until he was about to leave that Jack would be alone, but he needed to be back for Sun, "...Thanks" Jin said smiling, and nodded his head. He headed towards the door looking around a little more as he went. He waved to Jack before leaving at the door. He couldn't wait to explain what he had seen to Sun. He started to walk on the warm dusty sand returning to the beach.
