Cassidy sat on her bed, alone. The blanket that covered the entrance wasn't covering it, but it was up. She sat with her hands between her knees, rocking herself. On a box next to her bed, sat a 2 inch by 2 inch music box. The song it played, was titled 'Catch A Falling Star'. It made her feel better, because she heard it every night before she went to bed, and she had always been safe. She moved her legs so she was sitting cross-legged. She closed her eyes for but a moment before the song was over. She stood up and got back downon her knees, and then she began digging in her backpack. She pulled out a picture of her brother, her father, her mother and her. It is a family picture from when Cassidy was about 3, maybe 4 years old. She smiled a little bit, then cried. She cried because of the loss of her father. She cried because the last time she had seen her father, she had said that she hated him. That he was unfair. She cried because she missed her brother. She wanted him to be here, to comfort her. She cried just because she wanted her family back. She put the photo back in her bag and leaned back, pressing her face into her palms.

Jack had been walking among the tents to go and collect some water, he had three bottles in his hand, all empty. It had been a hot day, and everyone seemed to be very thirsty. Which was understandable. But as he got closer he heard someone crying from one of the tents. Stopping he looked around and saw it was Cassidy's tent.
Jack and her hadn't really got a chance to chat, he had been really busy lately and as no one trusted him he had found himself spending more time with Juliet. Maybe now was a good chance to get into people's good books.
Walking over to the tent he said "Knock knock, it's Jack" He wasn't sure if she would want to see anyone, but it was worth a shot .. right? "OK if i come in?"

Cassidy looked up at the sound of someone's voice. "Knock knock, it's Jack" he said. She took a deap breath and replied, "Yeah," unsteadily. She cleared her throat as she reached for a bottle of water on the box next to her bed. She opened it up and took a sip. It was nearly empty, but it was a hot day, so most people's bottles were] empty. She sighed as she nudged her backpack away, closer to a trunk, that she found and put her clothes in, instead of her ripping suitcase, which was under her bed, helping keep her bed up of the ground, along with other empty, broken suitcases and boxes. She pulled her legs out of the cross-legged position so they were out on the sand at the side of her bed. She just noticed she had left the curtain open when she came in. She thought she had pulled it down when she came in, but obviously she hadn't.

Jack had expected her to say a little more, but she was obviously shaken up by something "Mind if I come in?" He asked, crouching down. He didn't want to just barge in, so he remained outside waiting for an answer.
He hoped he would be able to help Cassidy, maybe get to know her a little better. Jack had tried to get to know most the camp, even those who had passed away he had gotten to chat to a little. This way, when the bury the people, at least one person would have something to say. Jack knew how horrible it was when someone did pass away and no one even knew there name, everyone just stood around in silence. It was one of the worst experiences on this island. Well, that and the hell they go through with the Others and the other creepy things on this island.

Cassidy nodded, "Sure." Her feet fidgited uncomfortably. She didn't know much about Jack. Just that he is Jack Shephard, the spinal surgeon, who seems to have a crush on Kate. She didn't know if Jack really did have a crush on Kate, but in all of her experience (Which isn't much, but a pretty good amount) she thought that Jack acted like he liked her. Just being around Kate, so Cassidy just sort of assumed. She finally kept her feet still, one crossed over the other, with her hands on her lap. Her tent wasn't that lcose to the water, but fairly, and she could hear the waves lapping at the sand outside.

Jack came inside, it wasn't a very big tent, but then again it was probably only made for one person. He smiled at Cassidy as he entered, it was obvious she had been crying, but he didn't say anything just yet. Instead he made himself comfortable and asked "How are you?"
Jack thought this would be better than, "Were you crying?" Maybe she didn't want anyone to know, everyone tried to put on a tough front but Jack knew different. Everyone missed home, no matter what anyone says. They would do anything they could to get off this island, Jack too, he wanted off this place more than anyone.

Cassidy was surprised Jack even knew she was here, considering he was usually occupied, you know, being the only doctor and all. She tried to make it look as if she hadn't been crying and replied, a little steadier, "I'm okay," Cassidy itched the corner of her eye. People were talking outside of Cassidy's tent, and it was nearing the time that people usually eat supper.

"You sure?" Jack didn't want to push it, so he moved back slightly, as if he was about to leave. The last thing he wanted to do was annoy Cassidy by trying to make her feel better, if she didn't want Jack's help then he could always go and fill up his bottles.
"I didn't mean to disturb you, I just thought I could help" Jack said, hoping Cassidy would understand. She seemed quite young to Jack, maybe this was harder on her, being here alone. Jack had never really seen her with anyone, had she been on the plane alone? Now wasn't really the time to be asking these, he didn't want her to burst into tears again.

Cassidy was quiet for a little while, thinking about how she must've just made Jack feel wierd, because she was rude. "My brother...He was on the plane..." she said, not really looking at Jack. She missed her brother so much. She wished he was still here, but she knew that she could only wish that.

Jack sighed and was about to leave when Cassidy said something, he hadn't expected her to want any help, but he sat down once again and made himself comfortable. "I'm sorry" He told her, trying to think of something more to say.
It was hard for her, Jack could understand. Although he did travel alone and didn't loose anyone to the crash, but he did loose his father in Sydney. A death of a loved one was not something you easily forgot, it took time ... but in time it would heal. Not that everything would be back to normal, but you would slowly get over it and fell better again.
"Are you sure he .. errm. .." Jack didn't really want to say dead or died " ... did you see ... him?"

Cassidy was quiet for a moment. "I...I know he died...Because we buried him....But I....Well, " she paused, wondering if Jack would believe her, "I saw him..." She was a little unsure that he was dead now, even though she had been there when he was buried. Cassidy took a deep, unsteady breath.
((Ah, I am having a streak of bad posts. But I am angry, because this Lost site I am on won't open. It just goes to proboards, which means it was deleted...So I am angry. Fear me. Lol. Ohmi...I laughed....O.O))

[[Well don't worry, this place will never close/get deleted!]]
Jack knew exactly what she was talking about, he had seen his father a few days after crashing here. But he didn't want to sound like a crazy person, so instead he nodded his head and told her "Well, with the hot weather we have been having lately you could be seeing things due to lack of water in your body. You should try to make sure you drink plenty of fluids. I'm sure it's nothing really, just try and stay out the sun a little more"
Jack didn't know if Cassidy would buy this, but he sounded convincing. After all he was a doctor, and who else could you trust? But a few people did seem to have these visions of seeing the people they have loved that are either dead or not here.

Cassidy's expression changed. She felt like Jack didn't believe her, like he thought she was crazy. "I'm not dehydrated," she said, a little bit annoyed at the thought that she had just imagined her brother. "He was here!" she stated, not realizing that she was being as rude as she was, which she usually isn't anyway.
((Yayy! It better not... The other site was deleted by proboards, so I want to KILL THEM...Even though I had an awesome day. Some kids who got accepted into this group went on W.E.T. and M.U.D.D.Y. Day. We went to a wetland park and picked up litter, planted trees in two foot deep water, and then at the end, everyone went in this huge swamp thing, that had water up to our shoulders. It was cold, yet really, really fun. And I brought Jolly Ranchers! Yaaaaaaayyy CANDYYY!!!! *Hyperness*))

Jack could see she was getting angry, but he couldn't think of anything else to say to her. If she had buried her brother then he wont be here anymore, this island was weird ... but it couldn't resurrect the dead, could it?
"Listen, you may not think so, but this island is a lot hotter than any place I have been too. It is easy to get dehydrated and not even know about it. The vision you see may look real to you, but ... and I'm sorry to say this ... there not"
Jack didn't know what type of reaction he would get to this, but based on the last one ... not a very good one. Maybe it would be better for him just to leave, he didn't want to upset Cassidy anymore than she already was.

Cassidy wasn't exactly angry Jack didn't believe her, just annoyed, because she knew that she saw her brother. She stood up, grabbing her backpack. She unzipped it and turned it upside down. Several water bottles fell out. They were all empty. "These are all from today." she said. She knew that she wasn't just dehydrated. There was something strange about this island. She dropped her empty backpack on the sand next to the bottles and sat back down on her bed. She rubbed hr forehead. She barely even knew Jack, yet here she was, fighting with him. Wow. Score one for Cassidy.

Jack could see he wasn't going to win this argument, so maybe it would be better to give in and not annoy Cassidy anymore. If she thought that she saw her brother then who was Jack to tell her she was wrong? No, he would just let her think this, after all, she wasn't hurting anyone [except maybe herself]. "Sorry" Jack said, not wanting her to think he was a jerk. This is the first time they had really spoken, and he didn't want her first impression of him to be bad. "Maybe I was wrong" Jack told her.

Cassidy knew she had just made this bad, and this was her first time really talking to Jack, so she didn't want him to think she was mental or something. She sighed, "He's dead though...So how did I see him?" she asked herself outloud. She was so confused, and didn't understand how she could have seen Nick if he was dead. "I don't understand this island at all..." she trailed off. What was up with this island? Her brother was dead, but how in the hell did she see him? After drinking several water bottles in a day she couldn't have been dehydrated.

Jack had tried to answer her question and she didn't want to hear it, so why would he bother trying again? Instead he thought it would be a better idea to go off and finish filling his bottles of water. Maybe the best thing for Cassidy right now would be to be alone. Sometimes it helped to be alone, let you think about everything without being interrupted.
"I'm gona go get some water. You need anything?" Jack asked, as he made his way to the door of Cassidy's tent.

Cassidy shook her head, "No thanks," she said, her mind wondering off. She didn't quite understand anything since her father died.
*FLASHBACK* Cassidy sat on the couch in her living room. Her mother had her hand over her mouth with the phone at her ear. "Oh my," she said, mostly letting the other person talk. Cassidy had no idea who was on the phone. Maybe her grandpa died. Cassidy wasn't very close to her controlling, narsisistic grandfather. He never let her mother do what she needed or wanted to do. He was overprotective, that was for sure. Cassidy watched her brother dribble the basketball in her driveway in the back. He dribbled left, right, acting as if a defensive player was trying to steal the ball, then came up at the side of the basket and did a layup. Cassidy's mother got off the phone. She was whispering something, but Cassidy couldn't hear her. Her mother looked up. "Your father is dead," she said simply, hoping for Cassidy not to start beating on her mother emotionally because she gave the bad news. Cassidy stayed quiet. She was speachless. "What?" she asked. Nick walked in. He threw his basketball at Cassidy, joking around. It missed Cassidy by a long shot, and then he saw Cassidy's face. "What happened? he asked, looking from his mother to his sister. Cassidy's mother shook her head. "Your father's dead," she repeated. Nick didn't react like Cassidy at all. He kicked the wall hard enough that it put a hole in it. "What?! he screamed, shocked. How could he be dead? *END FLASHBACK*

Lani was coming back from walking along the beach. She had gotten bored and decided to go get some water and she figured while she was at it she could pick up shells on the beach. After all, what could it hurt? And it would take up time too.
On her way back, she held two water bottles in one hand, and in the other hand she held several small shells with cool designs on them. She glanced up to where she was walking and saw that she was right by Cassidy's tent. With a smile she walked forward and entered the tent, saying "Knock-knock. Cassidy, I brought some water...and look at these--" She paused as she saw Jack right in front of her leaving, and Cassidy sitting staring off in space. "Cassidy? Everything ok?" she asked, her smile fading.
